Business is a routine activity for almost all levels of society in the world in order to achieve prosperity and a balance in wealth to be enjoyed by individuals, families, and groups. Business almost always accommodates the fulfillment of values and moral order, which are the basis for upholding the balance of human relations. Islam and Protestantism have taught their follower's various principles of business ethics with the aim of achieving prosperity in life for the sake of mutual progress under the banner of humanity. This article aims not only to compare the extent of the ideas advocated by Umer Chapra to Muslims and Max Weber to Protestants in the economic field, especially regarding business ethics but also to explore how the views of these two figures can be put into practice to realize the overall welfare of the people. This qualitative study relied on the library research method to collect data and the data analysis showed that there are several differences between Chapra and Weber's views, including aspects touching on family background, religiosity, and scope of thought. The similarities between the two lies in efforts to realize the world economic system in order to create a better order of life for the benefit of mankind on a global scale.Downloads
