Abstract

This study aims to assess the awareness and understanding of deviant teachings in Selangor among mosque imams in the Hulu Langat district. The research was conducted using a validated questionnaire developed by experts. It focused on 80 respondents from among the mosque imams. Data collection was carried out through questionnaires, interviews, and observations. The findings indicate that many imams remain unaware of and do not understand the deviant teachings that have spread throughout Selangor, particularly within their respective congregations. In conclusion, mosque imams need to be provided with comprehensive exposure to the deviant teachings prevalent in Selangor and receive guidance to address the spread of these teachings within their communities.
