Abstract

This paper explores the role of digital transformation in government administration, examining both the challenges and opportunities presented by the integration of information and communication technologies (ICTs) into public sector operations. With a focus on e-government initiatives, the paper identifies key challenges such as; resistance to change, digital infrastructure limitations, cybersecurity risks, and policy inconsistencies that hinder the effective implementation of digital government systems. At the same time, it highlights the transformative potential of technologies like AI, Blockchain, Big Data, and Cloud Computing in enhancing service delivery, improving citizen engagement, and fostering transparency. By analyzing existing literature and case studies, the paper provides actionable insights into how digital tools can streamline public administration processes and strengthen governance. Finally, the paper offers policy recommendations for overcoming barriers to digital transformation and highlights areas for future research, particularly in the context of developing regions and emerging technologies.
